Mosby Building Arts is a family-owned, home-remodeling company operating in the St. Louis area. Already known for expert craftsmanship and strategic design, they came to us looking to build even greater brand awareness through a 30-second commercial to run during the Winter Olympics broadcast in their hometown.
The brief was to join in the celebration of the games. We aren’t selling kitchens or a new three-seasons room. But we are tapping into the spirit of the games where most of us will enjoy them–in the comfort of home.
While we couldn’t say the “O” word or leverage the multi-colored rings, we could think about what brings us all together once every four years. Namely, the excitement of the events.
With a six-week timeline, we launched into a winter brainstorm, snowshoes first. Our concepts ranged from simple to, you know, sending a kid down a flight of stairs. (Don’t worry, she was safe. See: helmet.)
As simple as the idea was, we had a few considerations to contend with in production.
First, we had to find a good set of stairs. Second, we needed safety precautions in place, beyond the goggles. Third, we needed the perfect actor for the role. Our production partners at Bruton Stroube provided all three. Plus, they brought a handy-dandy leaf blower for some epic wind-in-the-hair moments–a scrappy testament to their commitment to excellent production value.
The full campaign includes a 15-second version (record-breaking run?) and a series of banners and social posts to reach the audience on all the screens for fourteen days.
"Darling and Bruton Stroube brought such joyful, imaginative energy to this work. Supporting the Olympics is a natural fit for Mosby because we believe in celebrating the shared moments that make a home meaningful."—Rebecca Lay, Chief Marketing Officer, Mosby
Needless to say, we’re pumped about the games and at least one campaign surrounding them. And for the record, we are in no way encouraging you to participate in your own bedsledding event at home. But if you do, please share the video. And check out Mosby. They do amazing work.
