PACKING FOR CHATTANOOGA

We’re thrilled to attend The Association for Animal Welfare Advancement Annual Conference in late October alongside our long-time client, partner and friend, Sarah Javier, CEO of the APA of Missouri. That’s two links in one introductory sentence. We’ll hold while you explore.
Where were we? Oh yeah, Chattanooga. That’s where the conference is being held, from October 26th to the 29th. And we’re looking forward to meeting around 800 animal welfare professionals and advocates from across the country.
And we are co-presenting with Sarah on the topic of optimism in marketing their mission. If you’re interested, here’s the full description of our session, taking place on Wednesday October 28 at 1:50pm at the Chattanooga Convention Center:
Sarah McLachlan Doesn't Need More Royalties From Your Marketing
Presented by Sarah Javier, CEO of APA Missouri & Jake Edinger, Executive Creative Director/Founder of Darling Brand Makery
For the record, we have nothing against Sarah McLachlan. Surely, she is a wonderful person. And she clearly cares about animals. So do we! But we also happen to believe that animals don't just need to be rescued. They also bring joy. Like, real, actual, beneficial joy. And we think humans are more likely to respond to an enthusiastic invitation than a heavy guilt trip.
This engaging session explores how bold, playful, and purpose-driven communication can capture attention, reduce compassion fatigue, and inspire meaningful engagement without sacrificing ethics or impact. Co-presented by organizational leadership from the Animal Protective Association of Missouri (APA) and the creative team from Darling Brand Makery who are behind the work, this session shares practical frameworks and real-world insights for using joy, humor, and creativity to advance animal welfare in thoughtful and effective ways.
10.28.26, 1:50pm, Chattanooga Convention Center
With real-world campaign examples, we will walk through three useful tools for flipping the script in animal welfare marketing and why it’s so important. We’ll also enjoy attending other informational sessions that dive into a wide range of issues facing these organizations. Hopefully, we’ll see other friendly faces and meet several new ones.
If you’re attending, keep an eye out for Angela Brightman or Jake Edinger, one of whom will be wearing a legible nametag.
